Mould behind a wardrobe
Furniture pressed against a cold external wall creates a still, cool pocket where moisture condenses out of the air.
The pattern
Mould usually appears as fine black spots on the wall and on the back of the wardrobe.
What to try
Move the wardrobe 5–10cm from the wall, improve room ventilation, and address any heating cold spots.
