Accessibility statement
Our commitment to making Stop The Mould usable for everyone, known limitations, and how to tell us when something isn't working for you.
Stop The Mould is designed to be calm, readable and usable on the device you already have — often a phone, in a home that's already causing you stress. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard across the public site.
What we do
- Semantic HTML and clear heading structure so screen readers and assistive tech can navigate.
- Keyboard navigation across every interactive element, with visible focus states.
- Text contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA on body copy and interactive controls.
- Descriptive alt text on informational images. Decorative images use empty alt text.
- Form fields with associated labels, clear error messages, and instructions in plain UK English.
- Tap targets on mobile sized for real fingers, not decorative pixels.
- Content readable and usable up to 200% zoom without loss of function.
Known limitations
No live product is perfectly accessible. We're currently aware of, and working on:
- Some legacy report previews rendered as images may lack a full text alternative.
- PDF exports of reports are generated from HTML — where a PDF is not fully tagged, we can supply an HTML alternative on request.
- Third-party embeds (payment forms, maps) inherit their provider's accessibility, which we cannot fully control.
If something isn't working for you
Email hello@stopthemould.com with the word "Accessibility" in the subject line. Please describe the problem and, if you can, the page URL and the assistive technology you're using. We aim to acknowledge within 2 working days and to respond substantively within 10 working days.
If a form is blocking you and you need to send us information another way, tell us and we'll work with you — an email describing the room, when the issue started and attached photos is a perfectly valid alternative to the guided check.
Enforcement
If we don't respond satisfactorily to an accessibility concern, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) via equalityadvisoryservice.com.
